1.Why is OCM Mgo SIP superior to other panel products?

OCM Mgo board only absorbs maximum 18% water and releases it very quickly as the product breathes. It will not change strength or breakdown even under total saturation and 30 cycles of freeze thaw. Wood and metal based sheathing used in traditional SIPS assemblies cannot withstand exposure to water over time.

2.How much do OCM MGO SIP cost?

OCM MGO SIP costs vary depending on thickness of Mgo Sheathing (strength) and EPS/XPS foam and number of panels ordered. This assembly accomplishes framing, insulation, vapor barrier, exterior sheathing and interior sheathing in one step. It’s insulation value is 100% for the life of the building.

3.Can I get a project price quote?

With adequate drawings submitted electronically we can offer budget pricing which is of course subject to change over time

4.What is OCM MGO SIP structural capacity?

The panels can be structural to three and one half stories without additional support depending on engineering and local site conditions.

5.Why won't OCM MGO SIP sheathing or OCM MGO SIP mold?

OCM MGO SIP sheathing is completely non-nutritive so it will not support mold, fungal or insect growth or infestation.

6.Do you need to drywall over OCM MGO SIP?

NO. OCM MGO SIP comes with preformed tapered edges like drywall board and can be finished with standard drywall finishing products. OCM MGO SIP is superior to drywall in every testing phase including fire, structural, water, mold/insect and impact resistance.

7.Can OCM MGO SIP be used for roof or floor assemblies?

Yes. Our system is design for use as walls, roof and floor panels...including crawlspace and basement walls.

8.What are the major difference between MGO and OSB SIP panel products?

There are two important differences between MGO panels and OSB SIP panels.

I. R-Value Both the MGO skin and EPS foam core have very high thermal insulating values. In other words, the MGO panel skin is a very effective and fire resistant insulating material on its own, and paired with EPS foam makes a very versatile and high R-Value insulated building panel product. If you relate this test information to that of a cold winter day, the cold temperature needs to penetrate the MGO skin prior to passing through the EPS foam core.

II. Fire resistance MGO panel skin when applied directly with a 1100C torch flame for 45 minutes will not burn, while limiting the heat transferred. One side of the panel will be 1100C while the opposite side will only reach a max of 134C over 45 minutes. We would not recommend a similar torch flame test with OSB for obvious reasons.
